Myelin Academia have developed Tutoring Standards as part of their commitment to improve tuition standards and create a more quality assured industry. Their standards provide a new framework for tutors & outlines their roles & responsibilities.
These standards represent an overdue step in providing rigour, transparency and quality assurance to an unregulated industry. They focus on two key areas; the role the tutor has to the learner & the responsibility the tutor has to themselves.
Entry-level reform
Myelin Academia works with tuition agencies, educational recruitment companies & childcare providers to offer training, quality assurance & transparency. These standards offer an opportunity for reform to the current entry-level into the profession with an emphasis on tutors developing skills, competencies & an understanding of their role as a tutor.
It is their aim is to introduce transparency and quality assurance into the tuition industry. By providing standardised training they can equip tutors with the necessary skills to teach their specialism with confidence & subsequently prepare students for life beyond the challenges of education.
Tutor Training
We are delighted to partner with Myelin Academia, which offers our registered tutors the opportunity to complete a specialised tutor training course. Their Level 3 Award in Tutor Training ‘PRESET’ is a recognised, endorsed and quality-assured by Training Qualification UK. This training presents an opportunity for tutors to develop & demonstrate these standards, either on entry to the profession or as part of continued professional development for existing tutors.
We strongly believe this opportunity will provide additional value to students, refresh key skills and increase competence in tuition. Originally designed as an induction for new tutors, but receiving an overwhelming 100% recommendation rate from qualified teachers, we firmly believe that this training provides a comprehensive & standardised competency for all tutors, new & experienced, regardless of their credentials.
