MathematicsWhen you meet new people and they ask you what you do, the answer of “teacher” is often then met with “what do you teach?” I always want to respond to this with “people” as to me this is the most important thing as a teacher.
Overview
Having achieved a BA Hons in Mathematics from the University of Oxford I worked in industry and government until taking maternity leave. During this career break, I studied for a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics at the University of Nottingham and passed with Distinction in 2010. I subsequently taught in state and independent schools, supporting many pupils through A-Level Maths, Further Maths and in their university applications, as well as pupils taking part in the Maths Olympiad representing the UK.
We moved back to the Lakes in 2018 and I have been an online and face to face tutor ever since, teaching maths and further maths A-Level and IB, including Oxbridge university entrance exams, STEP Maths and University undergraduate engineering maths.
